John-Mark and his wife Briana founded The Field’s Edge in 2016 and they along with their 4 children are missional residents at the village.  John-Mark was born and raised in Midland and tried to leave like many do. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in Business Management, he reluctantly and providentially returned to Midland. Soon after coming home, he was invited to church and was radically transformed and made new by the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. The Lord led The Echols to volunteer to serve the homeless which eventually became their calling. The Echols live on-site missionally at the village.

Benjamin was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to Midland after graduating Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2018. He is passionate about people and serving the Lord. In his free time he is a volunteer leader for Young Life! He is also a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan!!

Jeff was born and raised south of Houston but visited his grandmother in Midland his whole life. He moved to Midland in August of 2017 shortly before his two sons were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The diagnosis blew his world apart, but God had a plan for Jeff. God opened his eyes to see the homeless in Midland and called him to service. He soon volunteered with John Mark on the breakfast truck and eventually took over once John Mark focused full time on The Field’s Edge. Later Jeff joined John Mark at The Field’s Edge as the Glean Up Manager for 2 years and now is our Neighbor Care Manager.

Matthew was born in Lubbock Texas, but came to Midland with his family at the age of four. He was saved by God in October of 2018, and was baptized in June of 2019 on his mother’s birthday. Not only that, but his two beautiful children (Liliana & Alexander: “the Monkeys”) chose to be baptized with him, because God is rich in mercy. Matthew is thankful to be the Glean Up Manager, thankful to be loved by God, and thankful to work with so many who also clearly love the Lord Jesus Christ so very much.

Caitlin was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, but was raised in Houston, Texas. She moved to Midland to be with her now, husband, Mason, after graduating from Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em Tech!).  Caitlin is passionate about serving others in the name of the Lord and hearing others’ stories. In her free time, she likes to travel, bake, read, embroider, and take her dog, Trout, on walks. 

Pure was born and raised in West Texas as the youngest of nine siblings, and she cherishes her large family's influence in her life. Growing up in a close-knit household has fostered a deep relationship with God, which she continues to grow and nurture. Pure is pursuing a business degree at the University of Texas Permian Basin. Outside of her studies, she enjoys staying active through running and spending quality time with her family, reflecting her commitment to both personal growth and familial bonds.

Brandy has lived her entire life in West Texas, making Midland her home in 2019 after her children grew up and found their own paths. Family is incredibly important to her, and she treasures the time she spends with them. This new phase of her life has inspired her to explore new hobbies and interests. With a deep love for humanity and a life rooted in Christ, Brandy is passionate about making a positive impact through kindness, service, and altruism. After more than 20 years of experience as a hairstylist and salon owner, she is now transitioning into the nonprofit sector, focusing on donor relations and grant writing.
